BSG Law, Announces Kenrick Roberts’ Selection as Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commissioner.
Gaithersburg, MD — Berman, Sobin, Gross, LLP is proud to announce that longtime firm attorney Kenrick Roberts has been selected to serve as one of the next Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commissioners. This prestigious appointment is a tremendous honor for Mr. Roberts and a point of great pride for the firm, where he has spent the majority of his legal career advocating on behalf of injured workers throughout Maryland.
Mr. Roberts has been an integral member of Berman, Sobin, Gross, LLP since 2017, representing clients in workers’ compensation matters from intake through resolution. His practice has included appearances before the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission, appellate advocacy in the Circuit and Appellate Courts of Maryland and negotiating favorable settlements with insurance carriers. Known for his thoughtful legal analysis, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to fairness, Mr. Roberts brings deep subject-matter expertise and judicial temperament to his new role.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Roberts served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Matthew A. Maciarello in the Circuit Court for Wicomico County, where he conducted legal research, drafted judicial opinions, and assisted with courtroom proceedings. His legal training also includes clinical experience with UDC-DCSL’s Community Development Law Clinic and Immigration & Human Rights Clinic, as well as internships with the District of Columbia Superior Court and the D.C. Board of Ethics & Government Accountability.
Mr. Roberts earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law. He also holds a Master of Science in College Student Affairs with an emphasis in Conflict Analysis & Resolution from Nova Southeastern University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Political Science from Saint Leo University.
Throughout his career, Mr. Roberts has been recognized for his professional excellence, including being named National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40, National Black Lawyers Top 40 Under 40, and Super Lawyers Rising Star. He is admitted to practice in the State of Maryland and is a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc.
